ESI conducted multi-taxa field studies, assisted with regulatory document preparation, and engaged in extensive federal and state agency coordination for the Atlantic Coast Pipeline, a proposed 600-mile interstate natural gas pipeline crossing Virginia and North Carolina.

Services included:

  • Section 7 Endangered Species Act Compliance: completed protected species surveys for bats, mussels, fish, salamanders, crayfish, northern flying squirrels, rusty patched bumble bee, and multiple millipedes, dragonflies, beetles, moths, butterflies, and land snails
  • Regulatory document preparation: assisted with preparation of Biological Assessment and Biological Evaluation
  • Sedimentation analysis: modeling and analysis for sedimentation study in support of U.S. Forest Service consultation to obtain Special Use Permit
  • Water Quality Monitoring: pre-construction water quality monitoring and macroinvertebrate sample collection
